Ok, so she's not a high school senior (well, not until 2024 - boy do I feel old!) but how could I resist? She is too adorable! And such a great little model!

These are straight out of the camera. I am so busy with senior pictures this year that I haven't even had a chance to work on these. I love this little series! They will make a wonderful collage or wall grouping.

It's 2011 and I've made the decision to change my focus...get it... "focus"? While I love all kinds of photography, I am most passionate about working with teens and young adults and helping them to illustrate their individuality through portraiture. I can't say I'll never do another wedding or baby shoot (gasp!) but those will be rare events for me now. Ok, I'm kinda sad about that, but I'm really excited about putting all my focus on teens and being the absolute best for them.

This Bride was so easy going! She lived in Saginaw, hired a photographer from Bay City, got married in Au Gres, and moved to Flint! I am so excited to get her edits finished! Now I can finish up the photo book and hopefully she'll have it in time for Thanksgiving to show all her family. I sure hope I can do another wedding in Au Gres again. It is so beautiful there and what wonderful people to work with!

Here's the retouch on a photo I included on my blog
earlier. You can see the original, right out of the camera shot below. There was a tail light from a car on the bridge behind her that I removed, I thickened her hair a bit, and, none of us had noticed that her necklace wasn't straight! She's so beautiful, there wasn't a lot to do other than that - a little skin softening and I may have evened out her eyelashes on this one. Gorgeous!

It was a trip to AuGres and Tawas, MI today. I met the parents of the bride of my next wedding in AuGres, then on to Tawas. A perfect afternoon on the beach! A great day! I got in a little practice with my new lens.

Tomorrow - Chicago for the Wedding conference hosted by GraphiStudio. How much fun!!! I'm sure I'll have a few photos from that. Oh, God is good!

Sunday I travel to Chicago to Graphistudio's American Convention at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Graphistudio is an Italian producer of hand-made top-quality wedding photo books. The "Cadillac" of wedding books, their quality is unsurpassed. The convention will feature educational opportunities with some of the top photographers in the world. How exciting! I kept telling Shawna how difficult it was going to be to make her look good! I haven't done any retouching on any of her images yet! You can see how "difficult" it was!

The overcast skies threatened rain, but we made it without a drop! A little sunshine would've been nice, but who knows, we may get to shoot a few more!

A stop in Indiana to see a good friend. Cindy recently returned from a trip to Thailand and had some unbelievable stories. Don't even get me started on the "elephant bath"! Not only can she swim with the elephants, but she makes a mean garden! Who has a husband who'll keep all this watered for a whole month?

It's all quiet here, everyone's still sleeping. I'm looking forward to being home, but not driving there! It will be sad to leave, but it was a nice long visit. And, I look forward to seeing a good friend in Fort Wayne and hearing about her summer of '10 travels. I didn't get to do as many pictures outside as I'd hoped because it was so hot here! Over 100 some days! Here are a few of my favorite family photos from the trip....un-retouched, just for me....

This is one of my favorite images from my last visit here. We went to Birmingham's Botanical Gardens where there are more than 10,000 different plants in its living collections.

Caydence is completely lost in the moment while playing in the water sculpture! It almost appears as if she's being baptized with her hands turned upward, her head bowed, and the light dancing off the water.
